Fire lookouts with glass roofs for stargazing located in Wallace, Idaho
Chop Wood Carry Water
Welcome to Moonpass Lookouts. We are not a resort. There is no front desk, no one to assist you with your luggage - unless the 40’ pulley counts ;)
This is not a place to be sealed off from nature. It’s a place to live in it.
Up here the stars are brighter than your screen the silence is real, and your neighbors may include a curious chipmunk or two. There’s no WIFI or cell service - just the crackling fire, absolute quiet, and the satisfaction of doing a few things the old-fashioned way.
Our road closes in the winter but don’t worry we’ll pick you up
Fire Lookout Towers
There’s something beautiful about places that make you participate a little. At Moonpass, you climb stairs, strike matches, heat water, carry your groceries, and suddenly remember you’re a human with muscles and instincts — not just thumbs for scrolling.
The towers stand 30 feet up, quiet and stubborn, asking nothing more than that you slow down and actually notice things: the scent of pine, the color of dusk, the way the forest exhales after dark.
Each tower is equipped with its own wood-fired sauna and private dry-flush toilet, at ground level.
It’s simple. It’s old-fashioned. It’s wonderfully alive. If you’ve been craving a place that gives you space to breathe — you’ve found it.
